Letter from the Secretary-General

Dear Delegates, Faculty, and Esteemed Guests,
It is my privilege to welcome you to the second edition of the Viswajyothi Model United Nations (VMUN). As Secretary-General, it is both an honour and a joy to present to you what we have been preparing for months and dreaming of for years. My team has worked tirelessly to bring you not just an event, but an experience—one that bridges organization with academic excellence.
This year, we will navigate pressing global issues—from climate challenges to human rights concerns and critical questions shaping our world economy. I encourage you to engage deeply with your study guides and use them as a solid foundation for your preparation. Yet, the true essence of VMUN lies beyond the agendas. It is more than competition or awards. It is about the knowledge you gain, the courage you discover in your voice, and the friendships you forge along the way.
I still remember my very first MUN—uncertain of what awaited me. Some spoke of experience, learning, and connections. But then, our Principal shared a thought that has stayed with me: perhaps one day, we might find ourselves in the real United Nations, shaping change on a global scale. At the time, it felt distant, almost like a dream. But as we walked through the process—researching, debating, collaborating—it slowly became ours too. And now, it is something I hope will also become yours, in your own unique way.
VMUN is a journey of ideas, of expression, and of growth. Embrace it wholeheartedly. Debate not only to win, but to understand. Speak not only to be heard, but to inspire. And above all, carry with you the values and friendships this conference nurtures—for they will last long after the gavel falls.
I wish every delegate an engaging, enriching, and successful VMUN.

With warm regards,
Erine Shine Paul
Secretary-General
Viswajyothi Model United Nations
